Liability Coverage

Bodily Injury Liability
 
This insurance will protect you in the event you are found liable for injuries to pedestrians, passengers in your car or other vehicles and will pay up to the policy limit.Although state laws require all drivers to carry minimum limits those limits may prove inadequate in the event of a serious accident.

Bodily injury liability coverage also provides for your legal costs that may be incurred in defending yourself against those bodily injury claims or lawsuits.

Property Damage Liability

Similar to bodily injury liability this coverage protects you from cost that can arise from damage to property that you are found liable. It does not cover damage to your property.

Medical Payments Coverage

This is optional coverage that pays for certain medical expenses incurred by you and the occupants of your covered vehicle regardless of who is at fault for an automobile accident.

This coverage also covers you and your covered family members if they are injured while riding in someone else’s vehicle and injuries they suffer as pedestrians involved in an auto accident. This coverage is especially valuable for individuals who do not have health insurance and can begin paying even before liability has been determined.

Comprehensive Coverage
 
Comprehensive coverage is optional insurance that applies if your automobile is damaged by:

• Smoke and Fire
• Theft
• Vandalism
• Glass breakage
• Damage caused by acts of nature like wind and hail
• Accidents involving collisions with animals

Comprehensive coverage will pay for repairs to your vehicle or the cash value less your deductible if your vehicle is damaged beyond repair and may be required by the lien holder if you are financing the purchase of your vehicle.

Collision Coverage
 
Collision coverage is optional insurance that will pay for certain repairs or replacement costs less your deductible if your vehicle is involved in an accident and will be paid regardless of who was at fault for the accident.

Collision coverage may be required by your financing institution if you are financing the purchase of your vehicle and is often carried on vehicles after they have been paid off.

Rental Reimbursement Coverage
 
Rental reimbursement coverage is optional insurance that will reimburse you for rental car expenses you incur while your covered vehicle is being repaired as the result of a covered loss. Coverage is available if you carry either collision or comprehensive insurance.

Uninsured Motorist Coverage

This type of coverage pays for injuries to you, occupants in your insured vehicle and covered members of your household caused by an uninsured motorist or a hit and run driver. Coverage may also be available to cover damages to your vehicle.

Underinsured Motorist Coverage

This optional coverage will pay for medical expenses not covered by the responsible party’s insurance when you or members of your household are injured in an accident in which you are found to be not at fault.This insurance does not cover damages to your vehicle.

Gap Insurance
This coverage is optional and will pay the difference between the value of your auto and the amount of your outstanding auto loan if your car or truck is damaged beyond repair.
